Sir Ian Botham and special guests celebrated his big birthday fundraiser at the Wormsley Estate, where cricket, fine food and incredible live music were combined for the perfect family day out!

Friends from the past and present such as cricketing legends, Sir Viv Richards, Darren Gough, Matthew Hoggard, Wasim Akram and Shane Warne joined Beefy to celebrate his sixtieth birthday in style, alongside live music from acts such as Strapped for Cash and Eric Clapton, accompanied by his band.

Capital Sound provided the full audio support for this event through Proper Productions.  Following a site visit in late spring we established what would be needed and set about the design of the system. Essentially there were 2 main requirements, a system for the indoor Garsington Opera building. A 600 capacity venue situated adjacent to Wormsley cricket pitch North of High Wycombe. The Opera building would house a live performance by Eric Clapton and his band during the early evening of the event.

Outside on the cricket pitch (where a celebrity match would be played on the Saturday afternoon) a large ground supported video screen would be given audio support by Capital Sound to cover the public address during the day, and then convey the Eric Clapton show to a picnic style audience in the early evening.

The system supplied in The Opera was a Meyer MINA system with Midas Pro6 FOH console, Yamaha QL5 monitor console and D&B M4 wedges. The Eric Clapton control came in with the artist and was self-contained for the show day.

The system supplied on the cricket pitch was a Martin Audio MLAc flown 12 deep x 2 hangs loudspeaker system.

Capital supplied a fibre based system between 2 x Yamaha Rio racks covering the 300m between Opera and Cricket pitch to transmit the signal between the 2 locations.
