14 Projects, 16 Trucks and over 50 crew leave the warehouse bare. Planning pays off as events load in and the country parties! A weekend to remember as the country celebrated the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Capital team engaged in the busiest period in history. Ironically none of the projects undertaken had direct connections to the Jubilee celebrations but serviced current clients touring and a raft of large scale outdoor festivals and events. Whilst Celtic Woman, Billy Talent and Mumford & Sons continued touring Brighton Amex Stadium hosted the Fatboy Slim Brighton Beach Boutique 5 shows with a huge Martin Audio Longbow system.
Victoria Park in London hosted Field Day and Apple cart with Capital supplying main and second stages with again large Longbow/LC systems. Evolution Festival in Newcastle was the furthest trip for the Martin systems supplying main and second stage. Utilizing Meyer rigs were the main and second stages in Huddersfield where Mumford and Sons launched their own Gentlemen of the Road festival. Happy Days festival in Esher saw Level 42 headline a 3 day affair packed with 80’s toe tapping delights.
The weekend was concluded with DJ Avvici playing London’s O2 Arena on Monday with another huge Longbow system featuring the Glastonbury renowned cardiod sub pit array. Capital Sound’s general manager Paul Timmins commented after a late night load in at Brighton’s Amex Stadium…’ The entire company has shown tremendous team spirit and planning has been exceptional. We wouldn’t want a weekend like this 52 weeks a year but a few more would certainly be good for the bank balance! ‘ The week saw the launch of Capital’s new amp rack inventory and also the introduction of improved stock control to allow complete planning and tracking of all items without being too rigid.
